For many years, my husband and I had a dream of owning a store that
related to the environment, animals, children and essiac tea. That
dream came to be in 1998 in Tehachapi, Califonia.
After becoming officially licensed to cook and sell the tea, we set
our sights on our vision for the store. We had a mural designed by
high school students and local artists depicting Tehachapi during its
earlier years. Since our Nature School allowed a Dead Specimen Permit
from the Fish and Game Department, road-killed animals were brought
to us, taxidermied and put on display to be studied and appreciated.
(The specimens are now exhibited local and out-of-town schools.)
We compiled a Nature Bookstore component and were particularly proud
of our children's book section targeted for all age levels. We carried
local topographic maps as well as locally made honey. And we also made
extraordinarily beautiful gift baskets for all occasions.
Although shipping orders of dried herbs and pre-made bottled essiac
tea was our focus, the store was an added bonus.
Just ask us!
In 2006, we moved to Texas. It was a big decision driven by my husband's
career path, and it ended up being a benefit for the tea business. Now
we are in a position to obtain lower shipping costs for our customers
nationwide while still providing the excellent quality and service
that our loyal customers have come to expect.
In addition, my sister and husband have been helping us distribute the
tea since they are also here in Texas. And several times a year our
folks come out from Maryland to visit and are subsequently put on
bottle detail! It truly has become a family venture.
We are happy to be able to continue providing the essiac tea - both
prepared and in dry herbs form at great prices and look forward to hearing
from you soon.
